I0n1c has posted a video showing the untethered jailbreak of the new iPad 3.
Stefan Esser, better known as i0n1c, first showed the jailbreak of an iPad 2 on iOS 5.1 earlier this week.
Earlier today he announced the successful untethered jailbreak of his iPad 3,3 via Twitter. In the video below you can see him demonstrate that jailbreak.

Although the iPhone Dev-Team already announced their own jailbreak of the device earlier today, they did not specify whether their jailbreak was tethered or untethered.
I0n1c, who also released an untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1, indicated that he would be posting a YouTube video soon.

I0n1c’s jailbreak will likely work on all iOS 5.1 devices including the iPhone 4S if its released. Earlier this week he posted images of a jailbroken iPad 2 on iOS 5.1.

I0n1c is the hacker behind the 4.3.1 untethered jailbreak. While no further information has been provided on his exploit, we are hopeful that this is an untethered jailbreak that would work for all devices on iOS 5.1, including the iPhone 4S; however, we cannot confirm that yet.
If the exploit is in the OS it could even work for the iPad 3 scheduled for release tomorrow, as I0n1ic hints, “Anyway so maybe the iPad 3 will not be jailbroken tomorrow, but on Monday or whenever I get my iPad 3.”
